Unity Flag

In response to the 911 attack on the World Trade Center, the Lions Club and Quilters of Arlington, Texas funded the Unity Flat. Each elementary school sixth grader that year had the opportunity to create a square in art class that was then quilted into a flag. This photo is from the ceremony and dedication of that flag. I am lucky to have been teaching art at AISD during the creation of this flag. It currently tours around the country as a symbol of what children believe our country is capable of if we stand together in unity.
