Experience
Watercolor on Paper
2008
The idea behind this painting is to show what experience would look like visually. When trying to come up with the visual metaphor, I struggled for a while. It wasn't until I was looking at the hands of an older loved had the idea of using hands. Whenever I came across friends and family I would look at their hands...and they all told the story of different kinds of experience. Some were soft, some were wrinkled, some were calloused, etc... I knew that I had found my metaphor.
